Francis Scott Key Bridge collapses due to heavy hit from a cargo ship that lost power and steering control, acontruction crew of eight and some scanty cars where on the bridge.

Francis Scott Key bridge is a steel arch spreading over the patapsco river through baltimore, The bridge was commissioned on March 23, 1977. It was first called the Outer bridge before it was renamed in i976.

The bridge collapsed with allegedly eight construction workers and a few cars crossing,

A total of eight workers were reportedly on a meal break when the cargo ship crashed into the bridge, the eight workers plunged off the 185-foot bridge into the frigid water. Two of the eight workers were rescued, one who was hospitalized and one who refused treatment.

This damage was caused by a cargo ship called Mv dali which is a singapore registered container cargo ship owned by Grace ocean.

The cargo ship was reported to have lost power and steering control which led to the tragic accident that is yet to confirm if any lives where lost at the time of this post, the Bridge is said to transport over 11.5 million vehicles every year.
