Mavin records has partnered with UMG, Mavin records is a indigenous record label in Nigeria visioneered by Don jazzy , after the dissolution of Mo' Hits in 2012 which was jointly owned by don jazzy and d'banj, the label was rebranded and given the name mavin records

Mavin records formerly known has mo’ hits has hit a milestone in the entertainment industry home and abroad after partnering a deal with international music company called UMG( universal music group).

Not much information about the partnership was released but billboards.com reported october 2023 that mavin records was seeking an investment sale between $125-$150 million for partnership and $200 million for outright sale last year with Universal music group as top bidders.

Mavin records has recorded major Afrobeats awards with its artists like rema, Ayra starr, ladipoe, crayon, Jonny drille and others. The deal is set to be completed in the third quarter of the year 2024 pending regulatory approval.

As part of the partnership Michael Collins Ajereh known as Don jazzy is to remain the CEO of mavin records while Tega Oghenejobo will continue to head the label.
