Endbadgovernance protest in Abuja turned wild when the FCT police attempted to disperse the peaceful protesters, The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, recently made remarks that have generated a lot of conversation about the tactics used by the police during the most recent protests in Abuja. Her remarks correlate with ongoing protests against Nigeria's economic hardship and political problems, as well as increased public outrage and tensions over instances of police brutality.
The FCT Police Command, under the leadership of CP Benneth Igweh, proactively deployed 4,200 officers throughout Abuja before the present protests against poor governance. This was a component of a larger plan to uphold law and order, protect the safety of nonviolent protestors, and keep the demonstrations from being taken over by violent groups. To avert possible violence, precautions included heightened patrols in key areas, the use of explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) specialists, and visibility policing.
Even with these preparations, violence broke out in the Endbadgovernance protests quite soon. As protesters gathered from many places, SP Adeh claims that the demonstrations went out of control, despite earlier orders to confine them to particular spots, such as Moshood Abiola Stadium.
After this dispersion, protesters made another attempt to go to Eagle Square, which resulted in confrontations with the police, who were unable to control the public chaos. Threats to public safety and claims of property destruction further compounded the issue.
SP Adeh opposed the violent progression of events but emphasized the police’s dedication to safeguarding citizens’ rights to peaceful assembly. She indicated that although the police are in favor of legal protests, they will not put people’s lives or property in jeopardy.
A layer of political issues was introduced to the problem by President Bola Tinubu’s words, which suggested that the protests were motivated by outside forces and had the potential to disrupt the nation. Tinubu’s statements brought to light worries about the wider effects of this crisis on the stability of Nigeria.

Because of SP Josephine Adeh’s claims and the violence involving the FCT Police Command during the recent Endbadgovernance protests in Abuja, Nigerians are criticizing her on X.com. Initially intended to be peaceful protests against economic hardship, the protests turned violent, and the police found it difficult to keep the peace.
She claimed that the FCT police used no force to peacefully disperse the Endbadgovernance demonstrators while attempting to contain the damage. Nigerians, who saw her as one of the few police officers who was different, attacked her on X.com, presenting video and picture proof to indicate otherwise.
They scolded her for trying to cover up the crimes carried out by the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory Police Command and expressed their dismay with her.
On September 14, 2021, Josephine Adeh was named Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command. Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector General of Police, authorized her employment, which took effect right away.
Adeh served several important roles before being appointed PPRO, such as Deputy Police Adviser while serving as a Police Attaché in New York, USA. She held the position of 2 i/c in charge of the Force Public Relations Department’s Strategic Communications. SP Adeh is a member of both the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). She studied at the Police Staff College in Jos. for the Advanced Detective Course.
